Important Ride Details
Thank you all for choosing to be a part of Ride to Provide, the fun, challenging and scenic charity bike ride! There will be three different distances to ride: 10 mile ride, 20 mile ride, 35 mile ride and 53 mile ride. This year we are extending the distance while we head WEST on the W&OD Trail. The event will take place from 9:00 am - 2:30pm.
Below are some of the important details that will help guide you through a successful and fun event. Please read the below details to help you better understand the event.
BIKE RENTALS: If you don't have a bike, no worries!
The Bike Lane, Reston, VA - Make it easy on yourself and rent a bike right at Reston Town Center from The Bike Lane. You will need to reserve the bike online at least 48 hours in advance and pick them up the day before the ride and return the day of. Bike and Roll Washington DC offers 2013 Trek hybrid ($35), performance ($45) and road bikes ($55) for rent for Ride to Provide. Rental includes: bike, helmet, lock, flat kit & handlebar bag. Participants renting bikes for the ride may pick-up from our Downtown DC or Alexandria location (please specify desired location when making reservation) any time after 12noon Friday, April 20th and return by 5:45pm Saturday, April 21st. Full day rental rate applies; overnight fee will be waived. Please call 202.842.2453 to reserve and mention Ride to Provide.
RAFFLE DRAWING & AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS:
There will be spectacular prizes in our raffle drawings and opportunities to purchase autographed Redskin photos. See below for more info!
LOCATION: The ride begins at Reston Town Center Pavilion in Reston, VA and immediately enters the W&OD Railroad Regional Park Trail. The ride ends at Reston Town Center as well. All three distances will have a well marked turn-around station on the W&OD Trail.
DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 8:15 am - 2:30pm *ALL RIDERS MUST CHECK-IN & receive a BIB NUMBER in order to ride
REGISTRATION: There is no deadline for registration. You may register the day of the event. Please see the Registration page for more information.
AGE TO REGISTER: There is no minimum age to register. However, anyone riding a bike must be registered. Infants/toddlers riding in baby carriers or trailers do not have to be registered.

ARRIVAL: Please arrive at your designated check-in time to pick-up your event Bib Number, Sport Sack and its contents. Entry fees are not transferable to another person and note that a valid ID will be required at event packet pick-up for anyone 18 years of age and older.
**NOTE: This is not a race, but a fun ride!
RAIN DATE: There will be NO rain date. The ride will go on rain or shine.
PRE-EVENT RECOGNITION & FESTIVITIES: All riders will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets in order to win spectacular prizes. Some of the prizes include a chance to sit-in for a live taping of the Sports Junkies, resort and hotel accomodations, concert tickets, autographed items (Pro-Bowl memorabilia), restaurant gift cards, chances to ride with the players and more! You will also be able to purchase photos of the Redskin players on hand and obtain autographs! Raffle winners riding with Redskin players and media personalities will also be announced at the start of the ride.
SUPPORT DURING THE RIDE: Bike Marshals, Safety Patrols and Mechanical and First-Aid personnel will be on hand during the ride. There will also be plenty of rest stops with hydrating drinks.
POST-EVENT CELEBRATION: Meet and mingle with NFL and Redskin players and media personalities during the post-ride celebration where you'll enjoy music, food and chances to win spectacular prizes and autographed items from Redskin players and sponsors. All riders will have the chance to win prizes! You are more than welcome to bring your family and friends to cheer you before the ride and to join you during the post-ride celebration.
PACKET PICK UP:
Packet pick-up occurs during registration on event day, Saturday, April 20, 2013, starting at 8:00 am at the registration table at the Reston Town Center Pavilion. This is the only date you can pick up your event packet. In your packet, you will receive an event T-shirt, a Rider Handbook and other great gifts from our sponsors.
Each participant MUST pickup their own packet - due to insurance liability implications, there is no exceptions to this rule. All participants 18 years of age and over must show a photo ID. Each rider will receive a BIB number to be affixed to their clothing at packet pick up and must remain on throughout the entire event.You will not be allowed to participate without your BIB number.

From I-495 take the Dulles Toll Road (Exit 67, Rt. 267 west) to Reston Parkway exit (Exit 12). Turn right on Reston Parkway then left on New Dominion Parkway (3rd light).
From Washington D.C.
Take I-66 west. Merge right onto Rt. 267 (Dulles Toll Road)/Dulles Access Road. When the road splits, stay in the right-hand lanes. Follow Rt. 267 (Dulles Toll Road). Pass under I-495 and proceed as described above.
From Eastern Loudoun County
Take Dulles Greenway/Dulles Toll Road to Reston Parkway exit (Exit 12) and turn left on Reston Parkway. Turn left on New Dominion Parkway (4th light).

This year, we are heading WEST on the W&OD Trail. The route begins at Reston Town Center Pavilion and immediately enters the W&OD Railroad Regional Park Trail heading west toward Leesburg for an incredibly scenic, fun and challenging ride through the countryside. Please follow the Ride To Provide and W&OD Trail signs and follow the yellow line on the paved trail throughout the entire ride.
The route is on a paved trail and runs through the urban heartland and countryside of Northern Virginia. The route will consist of flat areas and rolling hills.
